  23. I have done this. There were three difficulties:

  25. * The cables for 3.5" and 2.5 drives are different. You'll need a cable
  26. with two 2.5" connectors and one 3.5" connector. I couldn't find such
  27. a beast, so I ended up soldering two cables of different types
  28. together, which took me two hours.

  30. * The 2.5" cables and connectors are difficult to handle. I broke my
  31. first connector when trying to fit it onto the cable. My advice is not
  32. to mess with 2.5" cables unless you have tools and know what you are
  33. doing.

  35. * There's not much room for it. I removed the floppy and put the
  36. harddrive in its place.

  38. So it's certainly possible, but requires some work. Perhaps it's better
  39. that you sell the 2.5" drive and buy a larger 3.5" drive.
